i got another astronomy book. hahaha. DAVID LEVY's Guide to the Night Sky, Cambridge University Press. and it was on sale! :D anyway, it was so good that I was up until 2am this morning reading it. >_____<>
and, i can't believe i missed the Geminids! aaaaah! it peaked last December 14 and Levy describes it as the largest shower of the year, with a rate of about 75 meteors per hour. and to think, it was a friday night. oh nooo. T______________T"
there's good news, though. the January Quadrantids will peak on January 3-4. yaaaay! at least there's more to the batch retreat that i can look forward to. we'll be in Antipolo, so hopefully the skies will be clearer there. and they'll (the teachers) allow people to go out at night. if they don't, well, i'll find a way to sneak out. ;) only drawback is that the radiant, near Epsilon Ursae Majoris, doesn't go high up in the sky until very late at night, if it indeed rises. :)) it is as good as the August Perseids (which peaks at August 11-12 :D), says Levy, at about 50 meteors per hour. :)
"When you watch meteors, you become part of our planet's lazy journey round the Sun, picking up particles as it goes."
